Presentation of Armenian wine

On May 11, 2022 Ambassador of Armenia to India Youri Babakhanian participated in the wine promotion event organized at New Delhi's Leela Hotel, during which the Armenian "Vanardi" wine was introduced. The event was organized by the renowned Indian company Ritu Group, which specializes in wine and champagne imports. Ritu Group is also the publisher of "Fine Wine and Champagne India" magazine. The presentation was attended by Ambassadors and High Commissioners of France, Britain, Portugal, Austria, Argentina, and Georgia, as well as wine producers, sommeliers, and connoisseurs. Through the course of the dinner, ambassadors presented the wines produced in their countries, whilst the wines were being served to the guests.

In his speech, Ambassador Babakhanian spoke about the millennial history of Armenian wines, the 6100-year-old winery excavated in the region of Vayk, as well as the winemaking industry that has been developing rapidly in Armenia in recent years, highlighting its importance in terms of tourism development. Then the guests were served Vanardi Armenian wine, which was highly praised by both diplomats and wine connoisseurs. Emphasizing the fact that Vanardi is being currently imported to a number of countries, the ambassador expressed hope that it will appear in a vast Indian market in the near future.
